A "Fully Equipped" Fleet Fit-out for State Roadside Rescue

State Roadside Rescue has grown from nothing to a significant size in a remarkably short time-and its highly visible presence is now seen nationwide.

The fleet was fitted out by Fully Equipped who provided the main stream Ford Courier Crewcab utilities with protective and service equipment to enhance both their working role and their very strong brand presence.

The utilities carry Crown fibreglass canopies with kerb-side opening windows. The loadspace is protected by genuine Tufdek liners and tailgate panels. Cabs are topped by Hella emergency lighting units supplied as part of the Fully Equipped package, and the front bumpers are protected with polished aluminium TJM nudge bars, along with rear bars and integrated towbars.

The Roadside Rescue fleet is a classic example of suppliers combining resources to achieve a major new product.

State Insurance identified the opportunity to develop the new service extension of the company's vehicle insurance business and contracted First Assistance, to implement and manage the Roadside Rescue program.

Fully Equipped submitted a comprehensive proposal to provide the proposed new fleet with quality equipment.

First Assistance turned the concept into reality, and the response, according to Client Services Manager Grant Mudgway, has been an eye opener. "We where overwhelmed with the response from operators, even in areas where traditionally there has been low demand for roadside breakdown assistance,"
The Fully Equipped proposal comprised items sourced from both New Zealand and Australian manufacturers. They were specified to give fail-safe service in the arduous roadside rescue business as well as enhancing the visual impact of the vehicles.

The TJM nudge bar, for example, was chosen to compliment the strong central focus of the Courier grille and to provide a mounting platform for auxiliary lights for use in areas where the vehicles are operating in extreme conditions.

For State Insurance, the Roadside Rescue venture has had a two-fold benefit of consolidating existing vehicle insurance business and providing a strong new-business incentive.

For Fully Equipped it is yet another demonstration of how its huge range of multi-sourced vehicle products can easily meet the precise needs of a specialised fleet.
